Does anyone out there remember the Medieval fortress by Delprado? It was about 8 or 9 years ago (in Australia) It's one of my favourites and I'm planing to light it and have smoke out of the chimneys. Problem is I converted it to 1/72 scale and extended it, I am running out of bricks and tiles, does anyone know how/where I can get some more? HELLLLLLPP.

You can only hope to find what remains out there via such as eBay or auctions sites, DP went out of business quite sometime ago.

I will post a pic in the next few days, if I can figure out how. I'm also planing to light it and have smoke out of the chimney, also the moat will be running water. Loads of work but......... Have attached a couple of photos on my first comment above. Sorry about the quality, batteries are low.

That looks realy good, and this is built brick by brick? and is it built to a plan or just adhoc. This sort of modeling appeals to me.

Yep, you do one brick or tile at a time. You get the buildings as cardboard cut outs and once folded and glued you glue the bricks and tiles on, after some fine sanding and shaping. The base is ply wood that is glued together to form the different heights and then plastered over. The only gripe I had about it is that if you made it to their plans, you would need a running jump to get in cos the draw bridge ended about half way across the moat :). I used some not so good bricks and a couple of arches and made a stone bridge that meets the draw bridge. I can put up some pics of the plans if you want, just need new batteries. All in all this is my favourite, it really got to me and I have spent and will spend hours on it. The bricks for the buildings are only 1cm long. If I can get it finished the way I want with lights, smoke and interior (not part of model) I will be very happy.

Got a possible lead on more bricks, if everything works out I can start working on it again. Will even have my own little stonehenge. 13th century candles= fibre optics, chimney smoke= smoke units for model trains or fire box, interior= lots of books and balsa wood. OK I can do that, getting the moat to look right with real water? Now that will be the worst of the thing, oh and painting the hundred or so 1/72 scale knights and horses.

a pump from an indoor fountain may help with your running water.

Yep got a little one from a desktop water feature, getting the water to look right will be the hard bit, but I'll get it.
