In order to finish the companion way ladder we have to construct hand rails (Did they realy have health and safty on the Victory ????)The instructions are to stain the white wood provided. I did not like the effect of the stain so I purchased some Walnut veneer. Small sheet 5" by 14" cost me a pound at the local market.Had to glue two pieces together to get the required thickness then cut to size. I like the effect
, much more realistic with the grain of the natural wood. Decided to leave the support pillars with just a coat of varnish
