Hi, any of you guys know where to get hold of a display case? I tried a few places, and the best I could come up with was a grand That was for a perspex one. My wife had a glass one made for me, but it got broken before I could put it over my ship. (This one is for my Endeavour, btw.) Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I am in Durban. Hi Quintin
I have been looking at building a perspex display cabinet. Your need approximately a sheet of perspex (3050x2050) 3mm is R1471, 4mm is R1880 and 5mm is R2201.
The price of a grand does not sound to bad. Where did you find a supplier for a display cabinet?
Happy building

opposite the entrance to the berea center parking entrance there is a dingy little photo/copy shop called photo sculpture, or something like that. the price quoted (around R900 he said)was for a 5mm case for my endeavour, case dimensions are 1000mm x 800mm x 400mm. Obviously our victory would need something considerably larger. Joe, are you building the case out of glass? I am now also looking at getting one made, or making one myself out of 3mm glass. I am tired of having to clean hundreds of meters of delicate rigging with ear buds and paint brushes Part time modeller, full time biker

The price for my case using current exchange rates would be approx R3500 but that would be the same for the endevour or the victory as the size difference isnt mauch then the cost will be the same.
They are a hardwood frame and 4mm acrylic sheet, MDF insert in the base to moun the ship to that can either be left plain, painted or covered in material
