centering holes in the end of mast and small stanchions trickey try this brass tube of various sizes slip in to each other so fit tube diameter of drill to.tubes about 25millmeters long up to the outer diameter of mast/stachion slip it over insert drill dead on centre

i could be wrong!!!
but i think he's trying to say incert 1 tube within another and another till you have the requierd drill bit size then slip it over the end of the mast or spar and then the drill bit will be dead central

captainalan spot on, try it in a model shop brass tubes slide in to each other like a telescopic aerial old aerial from car etc will do cut down to required size
another tip boreing holes in the hull of a boat holes are ovel centers miss leading find centre of shaft hole etc bore hole to fit smallest tube insert tube
next tube that slips over cut end with snips to look like hole saw slip over first tube twist and drill, tube will drill through donot remove , next tube the same till required diameter is reach i have dont this with a bow thruster on a supply boat and a stern tube on a fishing boat cutting the round shaped keel very neatly

Excuse my ignorance, but why do we need to drill holes in the centre of the masts. Completely lost on that one?

dont know about this model yet but if it is like the bounty kit i am building you
drill up the mast to fit boom guides hoops brasswire
