Dear All,

The publication of Issue 5 has been delayed by international transportation disruptions as a result of the well-publicised volcanic activity in Iceland.

This issue will now be on sale on 5 May 2010 rather than 28 April as previously advised.

If you are subscribing, we plan to allocate issues to you on the 4 May for despatch a few days later. We plan to send out up to (and including) issue 6. Some customers will get three issues in their parcel (4, 5 and 6. Customers that have already received 3 and 4 will just get two issues (5 and 6).

We've adjusted the timing (and quantity for some) of your delivery but we have done this to ensure you get your copies more promptly and also so that you can benefit from the build discussions on our Victory forum which a number have commented on this forum.

From next month we plan to send you 4 issues a month and aim to do this around 27 May (issues 7, 8, 9, 10) for despatch a few days later. Issue 8 will be on sale in the shops at this time.

Thanks for your support, we welcome any comments about this.

Thanks for the info Admin.

Not your fault, when nature plays her hand, we all bow to her!!

At least you are taking the trouble to inform us, not like some other partwork publications I can think of.

keep up the good work.

I have already received issue 2 & 3, so assume my next despatch will be 4,5,6 & 7?

Regards

Dave

Thanks for the heads-up on the reasons behind the delay, always nice to know what's going on.

Speaking of future issues, is that a lifeboat kit in issue 6 that I could see on the subscription advert?

*knees begin to tremble*

It'll be the first ever wooden boat I'll have ever made...

'Trepidation' barely begins to sum up my nervousness..

*Eeep!*

Schnellboots on back burner

Thanks admin for letting us know.
Sorting the timing out would be great. At least all of us will be on the same page BigGrin

I've got issue 1,2 and 3 so next delivery I assume will be 4,5 and 6 and then all of us will get 7,8,9,10 and so on.

Great stuff

Issue 6 isn't a lifeboat,it's a 34ft launch, the launches were used to ferry the officers around and land raiding parties or supplies between ships.

Life was so cheap then that lifeboats weren't thought nessessary.

One thing I've noticed, the number of oars/rowing psoitions shown on the launch in this series is far fewer than the launch HMS Victory carried?

And yes I have built many period ships before.

Thanks for the feedback.

drh63 - no, you will receive 4, 5, and 6 in the next parcel.

tom.ganc - yes, that's right. You will get 4, 5, and 6 next and then 7, 8, 9 and 10 after that.

Hi data0002

We've brought the despatch of the next two issues forward so they will be allocated 4 May. The actual despatch date will be a few days later, around Friday 7 May.

And then you will be sent 7, 8, 9, 10 around 27 May, and then monthly after that.

Hope that helps.

Hi tomo29

When did you subscribe? If you check your online account, you should see when they were despatched.

Assuming you had them despatched recently, you should get 4, 5, and 6 in the parcel that's being allocated on 4 May (for despatch around 7 May).

Hi

Have you checked your account online. If 3 and 4 are showing as despatched then you will be included in the 5 and 6 despatch at the end of next week.
