Hi guys,

during the setup of my quarterdeck I realized that maybe my hull is twisted. The mast dowels seem to be straight. beggar.

What would you do except asking MacGyver ???

Cheers, Timm

Hi Timm! Cool

I'm sorry to see this mate! but it might not be the hull that is twisted. The alignment of the mast holes in the decks might not be true, this would push the mast over to one side making the hull look twisted.

You could adjust the holes in the lower and middle deck on the side the mast is leaning towards using a small round file to straighten the mast, just take care not to enlarge the top hole in the quarter deck.

If the mast fits in to a slot of some discription, you might be able to shave the bottom of the mast so it goes over and staightens up or shave it up to the offending deck holeConfused

I agree with Darren the holes might be out as he says and Hartys method is another way forwrd if you dont want to ruin your decking

I am afraid it is, at least in parts really the hull, when checking just with the eyes. Haven't got one of these fancy laser thingies.
Also found out that one of the masts isn't straight too, might get a new one.
I will try what you proposed and keep you posted. Hopefully it will not show up too much in the end.
@Andy: The quarterdeck can't be ruined at the moment, the plywood you see right now will be covered with walnut veneer when everything is fixed.

Cheers, Timm

I had the same issues of the deck holes not lining up quite right pusing the past over slightly!
