My Boss's nephew is currently in America training on the F35. He got his wings a year ago at Valley, he was the only navy pilot to qualify for the F35 in the bunch that were there.
Once he's done there he's coming back in a F35 then being based at RAF Marham until Lizzie is ready for them.

Wow!! That is quite an achievement for your nephew Chris, you must be very proud of him as his parents must also be?! Cool Cool

Unbeleivable! You simply coudn't make it up. Until we have the same ambitions as the US military, our armed forces will always be an underfunded service. We can have the best trained soldiers, sailors and airmen in the world, but they are no good without the properly funded arms available to them!

Very true. Would have made more sense to develop a Navy version of the Typhoon, which is likely to outfly the F-35 in aerial combat....

That's a sight I would love to see. It's great seeing them side by side to get an idea of the size of our carrier. She certainly looks epic next to their mega carriers.

It does look rather sleek thats for sure.

Its only when you try and pick out people on board in the pictures that you realise just how big it is.

Wonder which kit producer will be the first to bring this one out as a model?

Well i missed all of that BigGrin that new connection models i have not heard of before. Airfix could probable put out something decent if they put their minds to it but that posting in message 91 does not bode well.

Be interesting to see what comes out in the future.

Hear is an interesting link between the new Carrier and the company that made the famous Fairey Swordfish. WFEL Stands for William Fairey Enginering Ltd

All good stuff. Lets hope this one does not have the same issues as the first.

They are some incredible looking ships.
