Giving it a good rub down and filling gaps and joins with isopon p38 then a light coat of grey primer finished off with Halfords matt black.

Needs a clear coat but won't be doing that until all components ready to fit

Remember a while ago when I said I was going to send all of my parts to you to do........... Only joking lol.

That engine looks amazing!! Are all the extras from 'kit bashing' as you said a while back? I'm guessing that this is the 'spare' engine that's going to be on display next to the model is it? Or is that the block that's going in it? I need plenty of practice with more models, I want mine to look as good as yours!

Nice work mate!!

Scott

Cheers for the kind words Scott BigGrin Yep going beside it as is the gearbox assemply.. all parts are kit bashed or made from moulds from plasticard etc.. parts from other cars and just put together to look a bit like what pictures I have.. It's all about practice mate and Bigmal and others on here will have been doing this for years will tell you.. Imagination goes a long way too.. technically the engine may be wrong but who would know that unless they worked for McLaren lol

Not really but I'll do a drawing with dimensions and add it on here.. very simple to do with plasticard sheet and 2mm hex rod from evergreen..then cover with carbon decal and clear coat..

holes are pre drilled into the top of the rocker cover and 1mm round rod inserted with a bit of superglue to hold in place.. Hex is then drilled out with 1mm and cut into small 1mm pieces and pot over the pretruding rod and secured with a dab of MekWeld (slaters) each rod is then cut down to length so it looks like a Nut and bolt.. Pics below
