  Hi Guys, Earlier on I noticed a post talking about getting a group together to visit the Victory. I contacted the dockyard and they would be quite happy to do a private tour for us but it would have to be in the evening. Anyone fancy it?

That would certainly be novel - and quite unique. I may well be interested - I assume making an evening of it and including a visit to a local alehouse along with a stopover at a B&B would be on the cards for quite a few of us. Schnellboots on back burner

  What we need is a list of people interested and come up with a convenient date for everyone. Where I live it would certainly be a stopover, think I could be persuaded to partake of a little refreshment or 6.

I would love to come & meet up. Saw the Victory last year & isn't she beautiful. It would have to be during the summer as I work in a school. Haven't started on the model yet but currently building the Revell model of the HMS Victory. Its been slow though it's coming along, painting it is a big challenge.

I would love to go ..but can't.. at the moment...i have damaged my spine and can find it tough at times to walk....so now i'm waiting to hear from james cooks hospitial....for a date for an operation...so everything is on hold for us at the moment.....i just hope the floor is'nt painted red....

Yeah I'd be up for it too as long as I could get the time off work, they a bit funny about holidays during the summer months, I have to give at least 1 months notice and book at least 4 days off. But somewhere around a weekend (friday or saturday evening or sunday if they open would be great as saturday and sundays don't count as days off  complicated I know but I'd just have to book thurday, friday, monday and tuesday to get 6 days off Anyway after my mini life story YES I'd be interested

well, im up to it...but it would be better for me during the weekend, due to work. besides, dont forget i live in Whitehaven, so its a long journey down...dont know how long, never done it b4, but if there is anyone else in the north west that would like to go, just let me know and we will go together. cc on the bench
Endeavour Long Boat - awaiting paint delivery and some power tools to hit the next stage.
HMS Victory - Same situation has everyone else, grumpy till the next issue gets delivered!

I'd be interested as well, though I'm not sure of the reality as I start a new job soon and from what I understand I'll be thrown straight into crunch mode as well as getting to know the team I'll be managing. So I suspect I'll be working quite a few weekends. That said count me in as a potential please.
I've visited the Victory and number of times over the years, she'd always been my inspiration to give wooden ship modeling a go and she never loses her appeal to me.
So a private tour would be fantastic.

Yes I would be interested but having the ridiculous expenditure of travelling from the Isle of Man I wouldn't be able to sneak this past the wife without her knowing, so I will have to use all my powers of persuasion to get the required permission.

Hrmmm .. so reasons to go to portsmouth from the isle of man ..
"Hon they have a lawn mowing class, which apparently also doubles as an ironing class"?
Of course this ironing is working with scale iron .. but that's just a "small" detail"

I am certainly up for it. One of the blessings of being retired is that it doesn't matter what day of the week it is. If any of you are ex services, I think the Navy Club (if it is still going) is just up the road from HMS. Vernon (Victorys home)
and if I remember correctly will let you have accommodation.If anyone living in Partsmouth area can verify this, that would be great.

Hello there, You can have any amount of people but you do need one guide for every group of 10 people that you have with you. The cost for this would be £124.71 for one guide inc. VAT and then another £11.75pp inc. VAT on top of that. I hope this helps you in deciding what you would like to do.
