I have found an alternative display case supplier to the glass one on Ebay at £75 + £14 P&P.

They have an Acrylic one on Ebay for the 007 DB5 for £39.99 + £10 P&P.
It is 24" x 10" x 7" which is a bit of a tight fit for the McLaren, but I have messaged him and he says he can make any size.

His Ebay Id is picturebox16 and he is based in Bury near Manchester so that will save me the P&P too.

I am thinking of getting two cases as I am building both the DB5 and the McLaren, but would like both cases to be the same size, so I need to work out the optimum size to suit both models.
Problem is I can't find the size of the DB5 anywhere. On their website I can only see the width at 197.5mm
Does anyone know the length and width of the completed model.

Thanks in advance.
Ian.

Hi Noki49

The length of the DB5 is 57.12 cm. You were right about the width.
Hope this helps you.

I have been and had a look at the cases today and was impressed with the quality. I have ordered two cases both 650x280x225mm. One for my McLaren and one for the 007 DB5, £40 each or £75 for the pair. Luckily I live near enough to collect so have saved on the postage.
They are being made for me and will take about a week.
I will put some pictures on if I can work out how to do it. Not done it before and don't have a Photobucket account so will have to look into it.

Hi, i bought the glass display case on ebay (the one for £70) & even though it is abit pricey, it is a lovely case & will look excellent when my model is finished. If there is anyone out there who isn't sure i can give it a big thumbs up.

The glass one has gone up to £75 now on ebay. And £14 for delivery = £89 each, and I would need two.
I came very close to ordering one, but was put off when I saw the price had gone up again.
I am very happy now I have got two cases being made to my size requirements for less than the price of one glass one.
I had even considered making my own for a while but I think that would have cost at least as much as one of these.

Just bought one of these acrylic display cases, ordered Friday night and even with a bank holiday weekend in the way, delivered this afternoon.
Good quality and great service.

Glass case is now £80. It keeps creeping up.
These acrylic ones are getting a better deal each time.
Picking mine up soon. ordered a couple of cases for my 1/2 size helmets too.
Pictures will be coming soon.
Hopefully my DB5 will be completed any day. Just got the last parts that I was missing and should recieve my last subscription parts 84-86 any day now.

I notice the postage just went up on the acrylic case. Still good value and it was delivered very well packed.

Search acrylic DB5 showcase.
They have a current listing.
£39.99 plus £10 P&P
They do a case suitable for the Mclaren as well but I dont think they have listed it yet. I know there are getting very busy as the DB5 comes to an end.
They also have a website: pictureboxdisplaycabinets.com
Their P&P has not gone up, was always £10 to my knowledge.
I picked my cases up at the weekend. I had them made to my own sizes.
Very Impressed.

I will put some pictures up when I get chance.

I can only relate to my own experience. Current price is £10.95, when I ordered it was £5.95. However, still worth the money, product is excellent quality, the packing ensures there is very little likelyhood of transit damage and I would thoroughly recommend the product and service, even if the P&P has gone up BigGrin

Hi Guys.
Just been on the site and the Mclaren case is now listed at £49.95 plus £10.95 postage. I'm gonna have to wait for mine but I will hopefully be getting one of those.

The DB5 case is £39.95 + £10 P&P
It was this price when I spotted it and started this thread, and hasn't gone up since.
The Mclaren case is fairly new to my knowledge and has only recently appeared on their website.
The Mclaren case is a bit bigger and is £49.95 + £10.95 P&P

They very kindly made me two cases to my own size specification.
I wanted two cases the same size that would suit both models.
I collected mine personally so postage didn't come into it.
I am very pleased with mine and would highly recommend them.

Absolutely noki49, I am very pleased with the Mclaren case, although the size of it finally hammers home how big the model really is.
