Hi guys, I am going to be starting a new build soon, namely the Royal Caroline. Has anyone built this ship and if so can you post some pics. I will be attempting some trenailing on a grand scale with this one, something like 3500 cocktail sticksCrying . Any info on this vessel will be studied with relish so if there is anything out there please shareBigGrin ,regards to you all, Ian

Hi Harty,
I picked the RC up on ebay a few weeks ago.
I have been following the build on http://modelshipworld.co...2/viewtopic.php?p=186664 for a few months, and decided to go for it.

The kit I picked up for £167 is a few years old judging by the state of the box and a couple of the blister packs had been opened, but the contents all seemed there.
I opened every package and checked them by the parts list and everything was there! (took me ages)
The only thing I am not sure about is the hull planking, they have supplied 1mm thick lime and 1.5 thick mahogany.
Can you check and tell me what you have been supplied?

I won't be starting mine for a few months, so I will be watching your build with great interest.
Sorry for hijacking your thread.
Happy building Peter.

Ps where did you find the expensive enhancement kits?

Hi there Catman, the planking you have described sounds about right for the maker and the enhancements can all be found on Cornwallmodels. I will be ordering the kit today and should have it by the week end. Hi jack the thread anytime you likeBigGrin

R C arrived this morning less than 24 hrs after ordering. Amazed at the amount of brass detail included in the box. Will post a few pics when I get everything sorted outBigGrin

These little boxes contain rigging blocks and nails, hooks, eyelets, deadeyes and such likeBigGrin .It just keeps everything to gether and at hand. Some of you may just have the dining room table to work on, but I consider myself spoiled in having the complete spare bedroom to conduct my activities with a purpose built bench/desk top to work on. Keeps me out of er indoors way and gives me peaceLaugh .
