I can tell a story about the shelf, not long ago,the shelf did collapse the ship fell on my d51c and flattened it, and the only damage on the ship was a small dig in the hull, the crushed boiler saved the ship, but the d51 was was totally gone, have replaced now. btw the glass shelf did not break either. Hi Karl.  Love the pic of your build side on. It gives an overall pic of the set up and what's to come.All looking fantastic.  Regarding cat. I was painting the launch anchor and as you already know it took a very steady hand and next thing the cat jumped on the work table and rubbed up against my painting hand. anyone thinking I shouldn't have stuck the beading on the channels,it is only put on temporary, as the chains will not fit through the holes.and they are fitted later. Karl As ever your doing a top job. Miles away from ever getting this or going again (made a will the other day and asked for the hull and parts to be chucked in the coffin - should give me something to do with time on my hands  ) What have you decided to use to glue on all that heavy metal? Been thinking about how wood can expand and contract and was only wondering if the so called super glues might be upto the job.
