Very nice build there John, I was wondering if you had any history on the ship. There is a HMS Unicorn still afloat in Scotland reputed to be the oldest still afloat ship of this type remaining. I have been on this ship and it would be about the same size as this one.  If you find out it is the same ,let me know, Ian

Thanks for the kind comments. There is indeed an HMS Unicorn in Dundee. One of the oldest remaining wooden ships. However she was built in Chatham in 1824 I believe and is therefore not the same ship. My Unicorn was built in Chatham in 1794 and led a very successful career capturing many enemy ships, and taking part in the battle of Basque roads. Unfortunately she was sold out of service and broken up at Deptford in 1815.

Excellent work yamaska!
You made it from scratch or it is some set you bought?
I like how you made the ropes, looks great!
Have just one thing I would like to see on it - sails.
With cloth sails added in an appropriate manner, it will look more realistic, my opinion. What I mean - not open sales, but collected tight to the yards. What you think?

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments. The model is from a kit although I don't recall the manufacturer. I think I chickened out concerning the sails. It's very difficult to get the sewing and the fall of sails to look right at this scale so I went with the lowered yards.
Maybe watching you guys here will inspire me to put sails on the next one.
