Hi Guys
Been following this forum for some time and have only just started my build, done front wing/nose and other bits up to issue 9 all a bit tricky as I m no experienced modeller, however came to issue 10 and have a real problem getting screws to bite, in fact this has been a real problem so far. I've taken on board the lubrication suggestions and tried that but the simple fact is the screwdriver doesn't give any purchase, in fact it's as if it's the wrong driver for the job
I purchased a Wera (I think that's right 00 Phillips off Ebay) and really that is no better
Has anyone had the same issues or does anyone have a solution, I have no problem gluing the parts but when it comes to the screws I dread the thought
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

I bought a set of cheap modelers screw driver set from a cheap shop containing size 00 - 0 - 1 and found this a bit better to hold

I've found that there seems to be quite a variation in the quality and size of the screw heads and currently use a number of different screwdrivers depeding on the fit.
As a further tip, I have also kept one spare of each screw size/type into which my WERA screwdriver has a good fit and I use these spares to cut a thread for me before fitting the actual screws - found this to work quite well and stops me damaging screw heads when trying to get one of the poorer screws into place.
I currently use: -
WERA Phillips 00
Stanley Phillips 00
Screwdriver provided with the kit
Phillips 00 from a cheap jewellers kit.

Supposedly these are all 00 heads, but no two are alike. Keeping my "thread cutting" screws to hand, I'm not having problems like I did at the start.
