BigGrin The english navy built 1 too with a hangar and a 14 inch gun i think but in an underwater colision whilst on manouvers the gun was ripped from its mounting and everone drowned. The designers had forgoten that there was a great big hole under the gun mounting and as it was ripped off it was like pulling a plugCrying

Hi Andy,

Would love to know her name to do some research, as far ad I am aware the inj version was operational, seized by the US at the end of the war and scuttled before the Russians could have a look, think it was s ng doc that I saw

The RN version with a gun was M1,when she sank M2 was converted to carry aircraft...but she also sank.
The French built quite a contreversial one,the Surcouf.
Italy built Ettore Fieramosca
The Japanese were the most prolific though, they built nearly 50 aircraft carrying subs, the I400 class carrying 3 planes & they could travel 1.5 times round the world!!
Germany tried but gave up as did the Americans
Rob Nolli Illigitimi Carborundum!!!

Hi Andy!
It looks very realistic and is a great job! I think it would be better that a scale or coins were located near your model so that they can understand this is a 1/700 scaled model!
Best Regards,

Hello Andy,

Seeing the diminutive size of this model against the coin just makes it even more amazing that you have managed to fit all those rails and the radar, etc, so neatly!! Excellent stuff Andy, I do love watching your ship builds even though I am not into ships myself (though I am into plastic modelling) which just proves how good they are mate!!

Well done and keep up the good work.

BigGrin Hi Kev
Thanks for looking in and the kind words of encouragement and it makes it worth posting when people such as yourself enjoy my endevours.I have to say this is the smallest scale iv ever tackled with etch and at times its been a challenge with its size aloneBlink with a bit of Cursing along the way as doors dissapeared into the never to be found again box but there are enough spares provided with some over.
The gangways/walkways certainly improve the look of the model as it brings it more to life in my eyes.Im currently still masking off and painting right now but she should be finished soon
regards
