I am beginning to sand my Hull and have noticed small gaps. I was thinking of mixing pvc glue with some of the shavings from sanding. Does this make sense. There are 1 or 2 visable gaps that I think need to be filled with wood filler. Does anyone have a recommendation on what filler to use? Thanks in advance. Confused

you need to try and fill all gaps with slivers of wood first, and only use filler to level out planking, the problem is when you use just filler,it can fall into the model and also fall off the model, gaps look much better if you fill with wood.

Karls right use wood shaped to a wedge shape/slivers to fill any gaps, if you leave the wedges slightly proud of the hull when you sand back the contours are kept to the hull

They are all tried and trusted ways there, but for really small gaps keep the sanding dust to use with PVA.BigGrin

I support all comments here. The gaps should be filled with wood as possible as you can.

To erase the grain of wood of the hull, you have to repeat the process of putty-surfacer-sanding on the hull several times.

These works will bring you a beautiful hull! Good luck!
