I've no idea what size of drill bits the numbers refer to, my drill bits are in metric too, however it's not an exact science as the eye pins can be slightly different widths depending on the manufacturing tolerance, so I'd start off with a 0.6mm bit and if this is too tight then re-drill the hole with a slightly wider bit. I'm afraid there's no point me telling you what size I used because I didn't use the eyepins supplied, I used No. 14 fishing hooks with the hook end cut off as it looked a better scale than the supplied eyepins. Just get yourself some cheap balsa wood and try them out, drill, insert part you want, if its too large change down to a smaller one, once you have the correct size on the Balsa then use on your kit.

May sound stupid but what I did was to construct a small stand out of model off cuts, drill a hole in the stand using the smallest of drill bits, mark out the size of the drill bit you just used on the stand in nice large letters in bold black ink stick your drill bit you just used into that hole and do the same with the next size drill bit up, no fiddling about and the drill bits are kept visibly handy nearby on the work surface

thats how we do it at work as well, its the way ahead!!

I bought a 20 drill set, 0.3 through to 1.6mm in a handy case from Maplins, cost £10.99, which I thought was a good buy?
