....and a C-47 to tow it. I'd sign up for that combo in a heartbeat! For mass market appeal how about those cold war foes: the Mig 15 and the NA F-86 Sabre as a combo? Wouldn't mind a P-51 either or Boeing 314 Clipper .

think this has proved that there are so many aircraft that we would all love to build in this metal frame format, and if de-agostini where to produce any of the afore mentioned as a kit there would be a lot of interest.. given that we have the Zero i personally would love to see many of the ww2 aircraft from either axis or allied in the same scale to have a collection of fabulous war birds from the past. Built - MP4/23, Zero, Deagostini Falcon, Model Airways 1903 Wright Flyer, Senna Mp4/4. Working - Mclaren M23 1/8th scale to complement the Deagostini MP4/23 & Mp4/4 on the bench, Model Airways Sopwith Camel.

catman275 wrote:Must be a Sunderland flying boat. We get the best of both worlds then. Catman meow Totally agree.. Saw the one in the air force museum in London earlier this year. What an awsome sight. Model boats built so far:-
Billings Cutty Sark Scratch built twin IC RC Vosper MTB. Scratch built rc electric hybrid. Scratch built rc IC hydrofoil (ran happily on snow as well as water!) Plus numerous numerous RC planes. Under construction Sovereign of the Seas! 1200:1 HMS Victory (by Mantua) The Battleship Yamato (seriously considering building as an RC model)

Smuggler has it right. How about an Avro Lancaster? If DeAgostini came out with the Lanc and Spitfire models, I would definitely be subscribing to build a battle of Britain memorial flight set... Andy Current Builds: - HMS Sovereign of the Seas Planning on Building: - Scratch built HMS Victory full detail interior (I know what's inside even if you can't see it ) Completed Builds: -

how about the battle of Britain collection - Spitfire hurricane 109 and a lanc if i had to choose 1 it would be the Hurricane as that won the battle of Britain and would look good in frame and material skin “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

The Lancaster would be a great one to build, but at 1:16 scale the wingspan would be just over 6ft. Would have to do some serious groveling to SHMBO if it were to come out. Completed: Endeavour Longboat.Collecting: Yamato

Rumours abound about the people who did the Zero for Deag. The rumour mill has a 1/16 P-51 in the works. They have a 1/32 all metal skeleton P-51 so scaling it up is not a problem.
We can live in hope for more iconic fighters in this skeleton/skin kit and they do make stunning displays.
I think that the series should be:
Zero, P-51, Spitfire, Hurricane, ME109, FW190
Twin aircraft 1/16
Moaquito, ME-262
A lancaster and B-17 maybe in 1/24 scale, although HK models in Hong Kong have a 1/32 B17 coming in August and also a Lancaster in the works.
For anyone who has their B-25 Mitchells in their possession knows just how big these are and the Lanc & B-17 are nearly twice the size!
A Lancaster/Flying fortress in 1/16 frame/skin! FABULOUS!
Where the hell do I put them??????????

Yes, the mossie was wooden framed and I too would love to build a large scale kit of it. Check out channel 4 - 8.00pm on Sunday 21st July - the plane that saved Britain.
