As I've been reading through all the builds I have noticed that some people use balsa for the whole hull, where others only use it for some, not filling the centre sections of the hull where it is not curved much.
What is the advantage of using balsa for the whole of the hull ?
Any help on this subject would be appreciated.

Hi Pabaz, SOTS is my very first build and like you couldn't decide the best way forward especially with so much very useful advice and tips from experienced modellers in this forum. Planking looks as if it needs to be done with a great deal of accuracy and care in order to achieve the best results and filling in all sections of the hull gives more contact area for the planks and makes the subject of fairing the hull a lot easier... Biggest and most beneficial thing I have found in doing this is how solid and secure the hull actually feels and I am very confident there is no way any twists can possibly develop later in the build... I would recommend following MWG's excellent tutorial.....

Hope this helps answer your query..
