Stage 33 - Contains wooden planking strips.

Continue the bulwark planking to cover what remains visible of the upper bulwark panel, remembering to cut out the circular ports as you go along and also the semi circular cut outs towards the bow.

Then cutaway the overhang of planking above the bulwarks so it is level, then smooth the tops with fine sandpaper.

Repeat on the oposite side of the model.

That's it for this week, carefully store any remining planking

Stage 34 - Contains hardwood strips, cannon kits and skylight parts.

Skylight assembly - Carefully cut the skylight parts from the fret, then glue and assemble the sides and partitions as shown., ensure that the assembly is square and sits flat and sand any overhang flush.

I opted to add the glazing afterwards, and started by soaking the skylight roof in hot water to aid bending to conform with the roof curve. Then glue it into place, leaving an equal overhang around all sides.

I then cut and added the 2x2mm hardwood rails around the sides of the skylight as shown. Seal the assembly with matt varnish, then set aside to fully dry.

I cut the clear acetate sheet to make three sections of glass panel for the skylight, and glued them in place from the underside of the roof panel, fixing in place with canopy glue to prevent fogging of the acetate.

Stern infils - Cut and glue sections of plank to infil the planking gaps that remain at the stern then set aside to fully dry.

Cut away the excess planking and the planking sand flush with the sternpost and keel.

Guns - Assemble and finish both guns as before.

That's it for this stage, carefully store the guns and skylight.
