Now come all ye modellers, both young and both old,
And listen to this story that ye may be told,
Of how to avoid this most horrible fate,
That left my poor worktop in such sorry state!
I’d just painted a cannon in Admiralty Black
No more to paint after, so that was just that,
I now had a problem, in one hand the gun,
In the other my paintbrush, now, put down which one?
I decided on cannon, ‘cause my paintbrush was full,
But in my next action I admit I was dull!
My paint pot was open, just standing there still,
Must close that lid tightly I thought with a thrill.
These paint pots need two hands, as I knew from old,
But paintbrush said “Use one!, Go on just be bold!”
So one handed I pressed down and the result, plain to see,
My paint pot flipped over! Not good
this would be!
It went off like a cannon with canister shot,
As my precious black paint flew out of the pot!
It covered my work top, it covered my tools,
All over my hammer it dripped forming pools!
So all of you modellers, take heed of this story,
And mind that you keep your Pride and your Glory
Safe from all mishaps, wherever your Lands,
And put your pot lids on, with TWO BLOODY HANDS!
