Here is a quick question. I am following the instructions on placing the foredeck on the hull and looking at the build diary as well. If I examine the photos on the instruction sheets, I can see where the tops of the strakes do not match the width of the foredeck, however, if I look at the build diary, I notice that they match up perfectly with the tops of the strakes so that they are directly on top of them. My model resembles the picture displayed in the instructions rather than the build diary picture. Which is correct? If it is the build diary how do you recommend me re-aliging the strakes so that the top of the strakes fit over the foredeck? Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan, It appears your top strakes are running out at too far an angle from the edge line of the bow deck section which need to be better set and curved to be much closer.
However, you might want to wait until you have received the parts set 41 steps, where on page 123, the final steps for the placement of the metal deck can be seen along with the trimming of the bow strakes. Where it will become much clearer as to the final fit of the bow deck and where you can then make adjustment of the top bow strakes as need be.

Presumably your top strakes align okay for the second deck panel shown in step 65

BigGrin Hi Db
the strakes when fitted to the bow are built up to be higher than the hull formers because of the curve from bow to stern, after the horseshoe [part 8] is fitted and sanded back to the profile shown you can dry fit or glue the wooden bow deck to the hull and then sand back the strakes so the meet the profile of the deck piece [part 6].Just be carefull here when sanding back and try to keep the strakes square to the deck part so the etch deck fits properly.
hope this helps
regards
Andy
