remember having this model or one similar a few years back, she was a great build with plenty detail, looking forward to your build, kind of brings back memories and might just (if she allows) to go for one again as a static model in between timber builds.

I bought that kit when i was 15 its big and lots of scope to detail. so it must be at least 23 years old!! Crying Blink

yip it came with a etch set fussy about rubbing the eye brows of the hull to fit the eatch ones though also wooden decks which are self sticking which i think will be a bit of fun trying to get them right also brass guns barrels and various fittings like for the mast

Very nice, and loads of detail! I like the PE set you get, and the deck looks lovely, although self adhesive is going to be fun!BigGrin

Wow, they have certianly updated that kit. It should be a beauty when its done. The self adhesive deck can be a bit fiddely but if you put some paper on it first and trim the paper to the deck you can then glue it down at leisure, just an idea.BigGrin

'Ere, that's not fair!
My brother was given this kit from a friend and then passed it on to me. The hull and main decks have been glued together and painted but that was as far as the original owner got.
One day I will give it a go but there's no brass or wood effect decks at all, its all plastic!Crying
I think I've actually got the original Matchbox kit and not the later Revell 'buy out' re-issue. It sounds like they've done a really good job of improving it though.
Best of Luck with your build!Cool
