Hi all Issue 18 - Page 13 - Point 17 Would appreciate some help on the following section of the build. I feel I may have installed something wrong earlier and now finding it difficult with the planking in this section. Struggling to bend it and make it fit as in the magazine photo and official build photos. I thought I would start sanding it to get a fit? Worried that I will ruin it if I carry on? I'll included some photos Thanks http://postimage.org/image/yppsy5p55/

Hi Bronco, from what I can see it looks as if you haven't tapered/feathered the bracing pieces (no 24) to the the false keel.. Would suggest your look at Mr T's official build diary or re-read the section contained in issue 17... You won't be able to fit the garboard planks correctly until this feathering/fairing operation is complete..
Hope this helps and good luck with your build..
Regards
Alan

Thanks Alan I've had a look back at issue 17 and the official build diary - I'm even more confused now ha - really don't know how I missed this. Worried now that I won't be able to get things back on track as things have been glued etc. Piece 24 is bothering me Can I get pass this without taking things apart? Thanks

Thanks Bronco, you shouldn't need to take things apart. You have to fair piece 24 in situ, I used a dremel with a sanding disc however you can achieve the same thing using a fine file, sanding block or emery board... It's time consuming but an important part of the build just as fairing the ribs are important to get the correct profile for the planks... Good luck... Hope the attached images make it a little clearer for you... Regards Alan Gandale attached the following image(s):
