My dad has been researching our family tree & has discovered one of our relations served on board the Northumberland, this has sparked a desire in him to scratch build her. Both of us have searched but don't seem to be able to find any plans for her, does anyone have any ideas on places to get plans that we may not have thought of. The only thing have been able to come up with is that as she was a 3rd rate with 70 guns for him to buy anatomy of ship HMS Bellona, also a 3rd rate but of 74 guns & a bit later in date, however he would prefer the proper plans if he can. Any & all suggestions would be gratefully recieved. Many thanks. Rob Nolli Illigitimi Carborundum!!!Current Builds: HMS Victory, SV Thermopylae

Hi Rob The Portsmouth idea is a good one, you could also try the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich, they supplied plans for all the warships in the "Empire Total War" game on the PC. If I find anything specific I'll let you know. Best of Luck Robin 'Eer I've got a Red Medal now! Thanks Mr. T! Just found these on the Nat Maritime Museum site! Many thanks for the help guys,we had already tried NMM to no avail & Portsmouth are unavailable atm....which as it turns out is not such a problem My dad has had me barking up the wrong tree all along,he required info on the Northumberlan built using the 1745 Establishment designs...however..& what he failed to tell me at the time was that the ship he wanted was the 1798 HMS Northumberland built to the same design as...wait for it...HMS Bellona! so in finding her plans I was correct ..I just didn't know it It turns out our ancestor was a Sergeant of Marines serving aboard her when she transported Napoleon to St Helena.
