Beading laid inside bulwarks and gunports drilled out ready to file into shape a fair bit of filler was used now comes the hard part RUBBING DOWN ive found the best and one of the cheapest is polyfiller ive used it on 4 of my builds and have never had any problems with it

Hi CaptainAlan That is looking a really good build, probably a much more sensible size to tackle than the mighty Victory! Regarding the caulking and trenails, I think it looks good from the pictures and will probably improve even more once you varnish over the decks, I assume that is what you will be doing? I have just once tiny question to ask and that is where will the berth be for the crocodile??? CrocodileAfter all it is a real pirate ship you are building not a pretend one like HMS Halifax!! Seriously Ben and I will keep checking out your progress Mike T

yes I'm going to varnish but was thinking about giving the decks a wash with cold tea to try and age them. as for the croc he can sleep in the bilges

looks good captalan, one small wee comment on the trenails,in between the joins it would look a lot better if you added 2 more trenails diagonally, as if there were a joist underneath.keep them pics coming. Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory Completed builds: HMS Pickel, Thermopylae, Mississipi river boat, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, San Francisco II, HMS Victory x5, Titanic Lifeboat, Panart HMS Victory Launch, Hachette Titanic, Virginia Schooner, Endeavour Longboat. http://www.model-space.com/gb/

1 thing I've found with this build is I've no patience i should have stopped and waited till i had a plank bender either a soidering iron or proper plank bender that was on order which arrived today as you can see from the pic's ive more peaks and troffs than a storm force 10 in the biscay

False keel lightly stuck on with 2 small dots of glue just to keep it in place this is where ive deveated from the pictures i cant really say instructions as there arn't any just a few pictures that really dont show what where why im hoping (fingers crossed) to mark out planking in a orderd way as to cover all mistakes and there are a few
