just got this E M from DeAGOSTINI
Quote:
De Agostini has brought the Yamato model ship to the UK for the first time and we have received an overwhelming response from model ship builders.

Unfortunately, as a result of that demand we are temporally out of stock of the first sets of components. However, we are pleased to confirm that we are expecting additional stock around 8 February. We will automatically send your first parcel to you at that point.

Please accept our apologies for this delay. We are taking a number of steps to speed up the supply and thank you for your patience.

Hope thay ar wright and it is not to long.BigGrin

At least they're keeping you updated, did you say you were thinking of making it R/C?

Nice looking model you have there, good luck with RC'ing the Yamato and keep us posted on the build as I'm sure a few might be tempted to follow suit Drool

Hi jinks8

Sorry for the delay in responding.

We've just noticed that some mail boxes are refusing the first Yamato email, probably due to its size.

I will talk to our Editorial Manager now and ask her to split the file into two so I can resend separately. I'll aim to do this by midday today.

If anyone else has not received the first set of Yamato instructions, please can you send me a PM.

Thanks

Admin

Jeez, all credit to you, I don't think even the 1/10 Kure museum model has the windows cut out, certainly a labour of love!

Just 1 ore 2 ideas I an toying with at the moment because as i intend to put mine on the water. Is to double plank it will make it a couple of mill wider but give it a lot more strength and cover the under side of the hull .The stern will have to be reinforced to fit ruder, the ruder it self will probably have to be controlled by wire instead of a push rod if the wire is fed through tubing it can be rooted round the sunken deck to the aircraft hanger. I will forget about the small ruder in front of the pros and fix it in place nav lights starboard and port will be 1mill fibre optic cable depending on mast construction the same for running lights ore grain of rice bulbs these are very small, you can get them from 1.5 to 12v the same to light the tower but 2 red bulbs . Running gear 4x350 motors 2 mill shafts depending on length will have to see the prop size be for I make my mind up on them. Given the hull cavity a lipo battery as they are flatter than a lead acid a 3 cell at 11.1 v. Have cut some of the ribs out will post pic’s later well think that is it for now 5min to 3 in the morning so it is bed time be back later

Thanks Hoover just waiting for admin to get back to me about some wood bits that wear not up to a usable standard and possible one part not sent tried to send him a PM but his in box was full hope to hear from him soon. If any one is trying to build this ship to sail sticking things on to a painted surface is not a good idea as the paint creates a week spot it has not got the strength as a metal glue metal contact as I have found out. Sum bit have to be glued on to paint it is unavoidable but keep it to as few pieces as possible hoop admin is not long in getting back to me Blink Confused JJ
