Hi gentle builders of the Yamato more pick’s of my build .covered the barrels so get on to pick’s of the rest of the guns so far they are stuck on to painting board with dubbel sided sticky backed plastic Have started to put the rails on to the flight deck for this I got sum straighter rod model shop for better fit. I t was then treated with Car’s metal conditioner and Carr’s metal black cut to length and glued in with cryo All so dune the underside of flight deck not to specks as it has to be removable but wanted to give sum definition and a hint of the rails and brackets

Thanks jinks8, your efforts look great too Cool

Yes all is going well and coming together nicely, the number of guns makes you realise just how powerful the Yamato was, it should turn out an impressive model even in its standard form.

Started to drill scuppers and put on what they are calling the load line. This not a load line but a Degaussing cable and has sum thing to do with magnetic mines? I have not cut the plans sent but stuck low tack tape on to them and traced the scuppers and Degaussing cable on to it then stuck it on to hull hope the pics will make it clear. I have used Tamiay 18mm it sticks firmly to the paper but can still be peeled off. One word of warning use short lengths to long and it will be hard to control The filler on the bow photo 5 is to fill scuppers as they did no look wright in fact a complet mess forgot to say thanks Tomick

Jinks, if you look at photos of the reals ship, what they call load line cables are actually housed into a rectangular box section which runs around the ship, other than at tight corners where the cable is visible such as at the stern.
So it might be an idea to ditch the wire and use plasticard strips, and form mounting straps over the section, have a lok at the photos below which are of the 1/10 Kure museum Yamato.

Looks good, I was toying with the idea of brass wire staples to resemble the securing brackets for the section which would be a labour of love Crying

That would be one heck of a job think I will give that one a miss you can go to far especially on a model of this size good luck if you do had my little eccentricity on the windows of the command bridge and the deck.
