Thought I would do a review of this kit after getting from the misses after seeing how nice the routemaster turned out . This is the picture of the the box and the parts supplied. At first glance I was disappointed with the kit as there was no engine supplied which given the scale of the model took me back, the mouldings are quite detailed but there is so much flash and pitting it will take quite a bit to bring this model up to the standard that a good modeller would require. There is a lot of improvisation that can be archived with this model with the right forethought, so if you are looking for a simple evening of modelling then this kit could be for you, if however like me want a good detailed kit don't try this the modifications that are needed might be to much for the cost. Hope this helps. Builds in progress: HMS Victory.HMS Surprise. Completed builds: Revell London Bus 1/24. Builds to do:Sovereign of the seas, Hms Albion.

Thanks for the review. you are right you would expect an engin and even a couple of figures “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Hello Pete,
Only just noticed your review and though it doesn't come with an engine, which is a real shame, I think it could still be made into a very nice model with the addition of some extra home made details and a good paint job? Maybe some real leather straps and etch buckles on the engine cover and soft top and some real brass and wood parts - food for thought maybe? The engine cover strap appears to be missing in the box artwork, but I'm sure they had them in reality?
Love the old Ford Model 'T' and the Ford Model 'A' Pickup was quite purrrty as well!! Just remember what Henry Ford said about the Model 'T' though ... "You can have it in any colour as long as it's black!!

Hi kev I have looked at numerous pictures of these and none have any straps on the engine, it is a real awkward build as following the instructions there are a couple of steps missing that you never notice till the end . I have changed a lot of the interior parts for wood as I thought it wold be more realistic. I will be putting up a finished build as soon as its completed. You're right Pete, they don't appear to have straps - I was working from memory and appear to be wrong on that one - Oooops, must have been thinking of something else!!
I'll look forward to seeing the finished model and it sounds nice with the addition of real wood to the interior?
