I started this model around 3-4 years ago.
It was a freebie download from the web but for one reason or another (Aston got funny about it?) it was removed some time ago.
The kit was available in 3 different colour schemes and luckily I downloaded all of them before they vanished.
I've built very basic card models before, but nothing as taxing as this one.
Some of the parts are utterly miniscule, bearing in mind you have to cut them out, fold them and glue them together.

The car is 'Kerbside' but there is a nice interior.
I printed the sheets onto photo paper and glued the prints to thin card.
Then the sheets had several coats of gloss varnish.
The wheel parts were printed onto mirror film and glued to thin card.
Windows are printed on OHP film.

I'm not expecting the finished model to look anything as nice as a 'proper' kit, but overall, it's quite nice, and something a bit different.
The component parts are just 'perched' together in the pics to give an idea of how it will hopefully turn out.
I think I've discovered I have either a card or Superglue allergy though.
I can't stop sneezing every time I work on the model!!!

Roy.

I've assembled the upper front parts - a real PAIN, but hey ho.... it's only card...

It won't be a fantastic model of the DBR9, but it's a bit different, and a definite challenge!

I know this one is of very limited interest but I'm plodding on, and I'm quite happy so far bearing in mind it's all made of cardboard.

It's actually turning out a wee bit better than I had hoped, but of course it isn't a 'showpiece' by any means.

There's still a few details and the rear wing to add, then a few hefty coats of 'Klear' when all is done...

Very nice indeed Roy and apologies for not commenting until now, I've been very busy and away all day so only just noticed the build update!

Cracking build considering it is cardboard and I think the standard you have achieved with this is remarkable - well done!! CoolThumpUp

Looks really nice RoyCool
I have a great affection for card models, commercially available or downloadable I have a collection of so many downloadable ones on all different subjects I've lost count of how many I actually have problem is I don't have the time to do them at present and may never will!
As long as you have a decent printer, good quality inks and the right type of paper and finishers and a endless supply of scalpel blades you can get some pretty impressive results.

Many thanks you guys.
I'm not a card model builder normally, and to be honest, this is my first 'serious' one!
It's also very likely to be the last...
Card is very unforgiving and definitely does not like to bend it two directions at once, meaning compound curves are a no-no!
It's also a bugg-r when you're sticking bits together with Cyano adhesive (by far the best way forwards) and you end up with a bit of the rear wheel arch irremovably stuck to your middle digit!
Don't get me wrong though - this build got to be more and more enjoyable as time went on. Probably due to the fact that the car became more 'Aston Martin' like as time went by.
I've tarted bits up with paint, 'fixed' dodgy joints with sticky-back paper and glue and generally bodged my way through the build.
All good fun though.
One big advantage is, if you muck any bits up you can easily just print them again.
I'm currently looking at the model in low-light (11.08 at night, no lights on other than the glow from my monitor,) and it looks pretty good!
Rear wing and side mirrors, aerials etc to go......

Great build there Roy, much better than my Bugatti.
As you say card models don't give you any time before they really become part of youLOL LOL LOL .
Your patience has really paid off.

All finished!
A taxing build but quite rewarding.
It's no 'work of art' but after trying to get bits of card to bend in two directions at once, I'm quite happy with the result.
I'll look at other people's card models in a new light from now on.
The freebie download isn't about any longer, but for those interested - I have the files....
