I'm just assembling the front wishbones and lower uprights (section 10)but I can't see the logic in NOT making the left/right sides a 'mirror' of each other.
The instructions - and Mr T's guide - both say to use DIFFERENT locating/screw holes in the lower uprights.
Surely this will mean the right lower upright is pushed slightly further 'out' from the car???
Also, the two holes aren't the same size which just adds to the confusion.
Once assembled it will be very difficult to remedy if I get this stage wrong......

HELP!!!

Roy.

Hello Roy,

I think you have simply misinterpreted the instructions?

If you look at the instructions in issue #10 step #1 for the LEFT upright, you will see that in the middle photo of the three it has the LEFT hole (outermost) highlighted as being the correct one to insert the screw into? Since there are no step photos repeated in issue #11 where you get the parts for building the RIGHT upright, all the text is saying is to make sure that you put the screw into the right of the two holes on that side AS YOU LOOK AT IT?

When it says to use those steps as a 'mirror image' for assembling the RIGHT upright in issue #11, what it means is that as the RIGHT upright is on the opposite side of the car and would thus have to be turned 180 degrees, it would be logical that you would need to insert the screw into the right of the two holes as that is now the OUTERMOST hole, whereas on the LEFT upright the outermost hole was on the left AS YOU LOOK AT IT? Basically, the screws in both uprights are located in the outer holes (as in furthest away from the car), so to put it more simply, the right upright has the screw in the right hole and the left upright has the screw in the left hole when looking down on them - simples!!

Absolutely!!!
A great kit so far, but I'm afraid of building it 'too quickly'...
I've spent 1 day on it and so far have assembled the nose, front wing, rear wing, front hubs/uprights/struts etc and the front wheels.......
I'm up to section 14!!!
It's almost TOO easy......
I do intend following some of the 'Super-detail' stuff a few of the others have done though.

You're only on the easy stuff at the moment Roy, there is more difficult stuff to come which will likely slow you up a bit? I'm looking forward to seeing some of your super-detailing, do you have any ideas on things that haven't been covered by myself and others yet?

Keep on with the build Roy - will you be posting up any photos in a diary at all?

Here's where I'm at today.....
The front wing has had a clear coat of 2K spray can just to see how it looks. That was done some time ago.
Enjoying it immensely so far.
