Hey guys,

Just a quick question

What shade of green should I be painting the ring around my tires in?

I believe its the same green as in the groove of the 2008 tire as the outer edge on the 2009 tire

See below

Any help, as always, would be much appreciated!

I used a light grass-green kind of colour, and a white ring next to it.
I saw the pattern in a Googled pic of the pits in 2008.

B.T.W....
I forgot to add - Don't try to paint the lines.
I used 'Trimline' - an absolute doddle......

That'll work on the MP4-23, not sure it'll work on the brawn Confused

Does it make circles ok?

The green line is more on the face of the tire rather than where the tread used to be!

Not sure you will get very good circles.
If you want to paint then on the face, put the wheel on the end of an electric screwdriver, set on slow.
Have the screwdriver wedged somewhere firm so it can't move, then hold your brush steady against the rotating tyre.
I may take a few passes, but you'll get lovely neat circles.

Someone get this man a medal!!!

That's a great idea, I'll stick it on my turn table on 33 rpm, that'll do the trick!

And the funny thing is, the number of bands now putting their new stuff out on 12" vinyl, because they (and even the studio's!) reckon it sounds better.....
Oh well, so much for progress.

Maybe one day even F1 won't be governed by computer telemetry, systems it takes HAL from 2001 to understand, and tyres that don't work, but the 'rules' say everyone has to use them......
(Maybe I'm a bit of a Luddite...)
