 A moving story of courage and adversarys becoming friends, I seam to remember that pictures of that stricken bomber being published after its return from the sortie as 'the b17 always gets you home ' type propaganda but no mention of its true story until now  Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

What a fantastic and truly heart wrenching story that is - thanks for posting it Tom!? It's so nice to see that the better side of humanity was still shining bright in what were such dark days, truly comforting and equally inspiring!  
Great to hear that a film is being made about it and one not to be missed, as is the book and one that I will certainly read!
