Hi all, I am attaching the lower engine cowl to the main body but it can not fit correctly because it is touching the wishbone! I have moved the engine and all as one wishbone was higher then the other and now they a both level. However they are both too high for the lower engine cowl to fit correctly and i can't glue it to the main body as there will be a gap!

Has anyone got any advice on what to do?

Thank BigGrin

Hi Scott and welcome to the forum BigGrin

Can you provide a photo of the part your having difficulty with? Also see below from Admin. A revised induction pod will come with issue 80..

ISSUE 80 Official Build Diary

"Hi all,

Some modellers who bought the partwork that was published a little earlier in Japan did experience problems with the fit of the body panels around the engine and gearbox. These were generally caused by a misalignment of the components much earlier on in the assembly, and instructions on how to correct these problems when they surfaced at the end of the build were published in Japan.
However, in the light of the Japanese experience, steps have been taken to prevent such problems appearing with the version of the model that is on sale in the UK. The amendments consist of new instructions explaining how to check and adjust the assembly at a critical stage that Japanese readers had already passed, and we will also be making a minor adjustment to a part to ensure there is an increased clearance.

As a result, the body panels will fit correctly and the remedy suggested in Japan does not apply to modellers who are building from the English parts and instructions.

Thanks

Admin"

Hi, thanks for getting in touch BigGrin

The part I'm stuck with is the side pod and the rear suspension as they are touching and shouldn't be. Heres a picture
Thanks!BigGrin

Hi Scott,

I had exactly the same problem, not sure if I did the correct thing but I got a sharp knife and carved the bridge in the lower cowl so it was deeper and would then sit flush!
Some of the more experienced guys on here might have a better solution though!

Hi Scott

The only reason I can see that you may have this problem is that the seating of the engine and gearbox is not sat correctly to the floor pan. I did not have this problem myself but recreated it on another build i'm doing. The gearbox covers have a tab that sits into a slot on either side so make sure both are correctly sitting before doing the screws up underneath. You may also want to undo the screws holding the engine into place and slightly move them back so they slot in..

I've highlighted your picture below to show the gap which indicates that this might be the problem. There should be no gap at all.

Thanks for getting in touch

I've undone the screws that hold the engine in place so I can seat the engine and gearbox in the correct place but nothing has change in my eyes. The gap you highlighted in my photo is still there. I'm not sure what to do now and thinking of doing what Ian said he done and use a sharp knife to make the cowls deeper to let then sit correctly. I might be doing something wrong but ill wait and see what you think I should do BigGrin

Thanks.
