Tonight's Museum Secrets is based around the National Maritime Museum (it's still on as I type this) If you get chance to record the repeats you'll find it really interesting, especially the recreation of the death of Nelson to find out if he was really targeted by a marksman or just unlucky. A weapons expert used a repro French musket to first shoot from 10 yds away at a Nelson dummy (he just managed to hit him!) He was then stood in a cherry picker at the same height and distance as the Redoutable's fighting top whilst a cannon was fired to simulate the noise and smoke of battle - the musket ball hit the dummy in exactly the same spot where Nelson was struck and exited the dummy's back at the very same spot where the ball lodged in Nelson's spine!! Incredible! Well worth watching! Hi Jase and benny b. Yes it was probably a sheer coincidence at that range but uncanny just the same! Benny's right Jase, it's the Yesterday channel, Number 19 on Freeview the series comes out first at 9pm on Fridays and is then repeated a few times during the following week, this is series two now, a very interesting program which looks behind the scenes at a different famous museum each episode. (The backroom storage at the National Maritime was mouth watering!) Hi everyone, apparently the wife sky+ this for me a couple of weeks ago,so it must be on a rerun.I am looking forward to watching this now especially to see behind the scenes. The only time I got to visit the NMM was a few years ago and there was only a handful of builders models on show. Kind Regards Nigel
