You beat me to it Nigel! India and Pakistan both receive millions in 'aid' from the poor British tax payer, both of them are nuclear powers with bigger space programs than we can afford! I've nothing against foreign aid for emergencies but not when our own pensioners and war veterans have to go without due to "austerity" measures!!! Robin First wooden ship: The Grimsby 12 Gun 'Frigate' by Constructo Second: Bounty DelPrado Part Works Third: HMS Victory DelPrado Part Works 1/100 scale Diorama of the Battle of the Brandywine from the American Revolutionary War Diorama of the Battle of New Falkland (unfinished sci-fi), Great War Centenary Diorama of the Messines Ridge Assault Index for the Victory diary is on page 1

Robin Too right mate!I feel one day we will become a third world country, while the likes of China and India will become the superpowers,it would be interesting to see if they would offer us help. Whatever happened to charity begins at home? Kind Regards Nigel

As Always these things are not that simple. we get a lot of trade favours for the aid and support we give. India is a large developing economy that the UK needs to be part of. also indian companies are spending a lot in the uk Tata for example (the owners of forma British Steel, Jaguar Landrover and Tetly tea) have spent over £400 million in developing UK industry in the last two years alone saving and creating jobs and helping the UK economy “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

I will have to agree to disagree with you on this one Jase.At least as far as Tata is concerned anyway.Having spent twenty four years in the steel industry,I have seen the demise of Corus(british steel after privatisation) and seen them taken over by Tata whose main production is now in India.Tata sell 99.9% of steel to china at discount.Meanwhile British fabrication companies pay an over inflated price for steel products that have been foundered in this country.I have worked with tube that has come from Russia, but was produced in the UK. Kind Regards Nigel

Kind Regards Nigel Well benny is right its not a political forum But I do work in the steel industry and the most significant issue in the UK is lack of support from the government compared to other European governments. And Tata spent millions on a new blast furnace in Port Talbot even though that business was loosing over £1million a day and they have not closed it. Anyhow they do make nice tea bags “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain
