Just want to double check, after trimming the sides, I'm left with a planking protrusion above the gallery. Do I just level off even with the gallery?

In essence yes, but you can leave until you do the height markings where the heights are then adjusted.

If so, I've done that, but the issue doesn't make it clear about trimming the tops of the last planks. Or is there an even later stage I'm not aware of?

Marcel, you need to be aware that there are slight changes between the Italian and English instructions.
