Just a few little bits this week, trying to get the "attention to detail" bit right! Added a little extra height to the gunwale bulkheads. Also started to made a Compass Binnacle cabinet.... ....and a little extra that I got for the end of the Anchor davits. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Built Mare Nostrum Google Photo AlbumMatelot (ˈmætləʊ) , Matlo or Matlow noun (Nautical Terms) slang chiefly Brit - a sailor

Nice to see you sticking with it. It takes a lot of effort to push through it on this kit. Good job... keep it going! Looks great!

Got a few extra things for Christmas, A Lime Kiln Dried Carving Blanks, for making another figurehead, some extra small bits, and one Carronade (making sure it looks okay, before I buy more for the upperdeck). I have blackened the rest of the brass parts. It is slowly coming on, I have used photos of "HMS Ariadine's Figurehead, and also of a bust of "Amphitrite" Neptunes wife, and the sister ship of HMS Trincomalee, which I has based a lot of my work on. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Built Mare Nostrum Google Photo AlbumMatelot (ˈmætləʊ) , Matlo or Matlow noun (Nautical Terms) slang chiefly Brit - a sailor

Well it has taken 2 weeks to carve the new figurehead, but it is getting there, and I think that it's a big improvement on the supplied figurehead! Just a little more sanding and a paint job to go. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Built Mare Nostrum Google Photo AlbumMatelot (ˈmætləʊ) , Matlo or Matlow noun (Nautical Terms) slang chiefly Brit - a sailor

Just some small but time consuming jobs done this week!! The figurehead now has some paint, and so does the compass binnacle, complete with it's chimney. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Built Mare Nostrum Google Photo AlbumMatelot (ˈmætləʊ) , Matlo or Matlow noun (Nautical Terms) slang chiefly Brit - a sailor

Just finished the aft rails, and also putting in some "anchor rope bollard". Not sure what they are actually called, might be a fairlead? ________________________________________________________________________________________ Built Mare Nostrum Google Photo AlbumMatelot (ˈmætləʊ) , Matlo or Matlow noun (Nautical Terms) slang chiefly Brit - a sailor
