Don't you be getting any idea's for your Bismarck build LOL

You might also want to check out the mini Tank track and Assault course just over the road as the kids will love it.

As for parking its manic around Peasholm at the best of times other than before noon.

Have a great weekend Cool

Hi Jase ,
We love York,go there quite regularly as it's only twenty miles away. The biggest problem as they had removed alot of parking on marine drive due to the work on the sea wall defenses,as to wether they have finished this,I don't know.
Kind Regards Nigel

You lucky chap. I was only reminiscing about this earlier in the week.

40 years now since I last saw this but as a youngster it was brilliant - lots of smoke a few airplanes on wires (which as a youngster are invisible). A great afternoon.

Scarboroughbwasvalways the family holiday as we went from swindon to Lincoln for a fewcdayscwith the grand-parents and then onto Scarborough.

How I remember the milk bar at the bottom of the castle hotel. Those funny horlicks mugs with an infilled handle - and the lady saying don't spill that - its hot. And it was at least 30 minutes before you try and drink it.

Really hope you have a great time

Kind regards

Tony

It is indeed. I always seem to remember our summer trips to scarboroughbhadvthecseavcoming over the front and almost permanent fog and the lighthouse blaring.

First thing was mum taking us all down the market for pacamacks, never had the right size and must have looked like one of Michael Bentines " potty people" - you show your age if you remember that kiddy programme.

Hope you have a really wonderful day ( do they still cook chips in beef dripping I wonder?)

Kind regards

Tony

BigGrin Hi All
I too got dragged up there as a sullen teanager and after a couple of days there loved it, fog so thick you had to keep to the sea wall so you didnt lose your direction.
Then years later i used to go on model flying holidays up there at a local Haven site i always remember the T34 tank by the road side, happy days

Rob

Always seem to remember it was a Friday event. You always had two potties a big and a small. If memory serves he also used to do a famous battle but along the lines of a flea circus ("here come the troops" - and the sand would start moving - think they had someone tapping it from below the table.)

Hope my memories did not cause nightmares for you.

Take care and enjoy your builds.

Kind regards

Tony

I am pleased to say the Peasholm Park naval battle is as good as ever. They are still reenacting the battle of the River Plate although the Germans are now called the enemy and the Graff Spee has been re-named. my 7 year old daughter was well impressed, she did not know model boats could be 21 foot long - guess what she wants me to build her OhMyGod Huh
some pics I took - and thanks to my wife for a loverly Birthday Love
