Welcome aboard Mr Baggins It's down to personal preference really and there will be some that leave the Spitfire bare and those that will paint her.. There is a lot of room for detailing from what I can tell if your into doing that? There is an abundance of info online so to get her looking how you want shouldn't pose a problem.. Spencer

Welcome Bilbo, I recon a bare Aluminium under wings and painted upper would look the part on that stand. looking forward to seeing you get building. “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Hi billbo, I just received my first parts and I must admit I would love a model this size in the d-day black and white stripe markings but I am not sure whether this plane was still about then or if it would be historically accurate, but may do it anyway, andy

Im also doing the D day scheme (eventually!)...Im just trying to decide between a czech or polish version. Jon

Thanks spike, yes I googled a few myself a little while ago you beat me to the post. I think a lot of the ones around on dday were with Polish sqns but I could be wrong. I have saved a few pics of them, just a matter of finding where to get the different letters and numbers in 1/12th or may have to try and print them out or perhaps a stencil, andy

As for different letters and numbers you could also try rub down letters and numbers, they come in different sizes so could get some to match,or else theres a seller on ebay that will make up some very thin vinyl rub down letters etc in any size or colour for you.So we do have some options to think about.
