Hi Shipmates!
I attach some pictures of Museum of Maritime Science in Tokyo.
As it is well known that 2020 Olympic games will be held in Tokyo, this museum will be very near the Olympic venue.
The shape of the building is like a ship. There are many ship models, such as a Aegis ship of JSDMF, a sailing ship "Nihonmaru(日本丸)" and an Antarctic research vessel "Soya(宗谷)". 1/700 models of all IJN warship in WWII are displaied there.
Around the museum, there are real "Soya" and a real 41cm gun barrel of IJN battle ship "Mutsu(陸奥)" . Mutsu was sunken by mysterious accident, this gun was salvaged from the deep sea.
At this time, the museum is under construction for renewal open, and the display items are limited now.
If you visit Tokyo (especially Olympic games), I recommend you to see this museum then.
Best Regards,
Yutaro
