Issue 119 BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

When i first started building the guns I decided after a visit to Southampton and viewing HMS Victory to add Tampions to all my guns. I like the additional colour of the red ends to the guns

This has however caused me a minor problem when it comes to installing the dummy guns into their ports.

Resolution as follows.

My first thought was to drill out a piece of dowel to accomodate the barrels and use this to insert them into the ports.

When I prepared to fit the Guns I first used my small hand drill to ensure all the holes where cleanly drilled and ready to accept the gun barrels. It was then I noticed that the spare drill holder was just the right size to accept the gun barrels and fit into the gun ports.
This drill holder gives a much firmer hold on the barrel than say the needle suggested in the build and allows firm pressure to insert the barrel (Not too much pressure you dont want to break anything)One thing to check. ensure all the barrels are clean around the pin end. Several of mine had small bits of castings which needed to be filed off to allow the barrel to make flush fit

A picture speaks a thousand word so two attached

As always feedback is welcombe

Darn good idea Gil. I am only on 102 so all the little ideas help, but will definitely put this idea away for future reference. Thank you.
