hi everyone, as I have never built a wooden ship, I have been thinking of subscribing to build the hms victory, and I have been looking at your build diaries and the photos of everybodys models look stunning. a credit to you all.but a few things I need to find out first.1 what is the best glues to buy.2 can you paint parts first and then glue or will the parts not bond because of the paint.3 you make things look easy with your photos, but is it?

Hi Bill Welcome, the victory is certainly a good choice even for a beginner, Its been a joy to build as the instructions are very good and there is also a great official build to guide you plus all the other build diaries on here. I am at issue 83 and have had no real problems even though this is only my second wooden ship build and the first one that I will be completing Steve

Bill Welcome to the forum. Victory would be a very good choice as for the uk the main build has been completed which for you means all of the possible pit falls and issues you may have will have already seen questions and answers posted by the other forum members. It's a really good kit as you can see from the various build diaries and not forgetting mr T's expert guidance and advice through the official build diary. Wish you many hours of happy modelling. Kind regards Tony Happy Modelling
BUILDING: Hachette Spitfire Mk 1A, Constructo Mayflower SUBSCRIPTION COMPLETE (Awaiting building): USS Constitution, Sovereign of the Seas, 1:200 Bismarck (Hachette) COMPLETED: Porsche 911, E-Type Jaguar, Lam Countach
