moving on to the channels and channel irons and deadeyes. the channel irons were made from .05mm. wire painted black.

made a start on the masts and bowsprit, again no laser parts,all made from the plans, very time consuming,but you do get a sense of achievement and pleasure.we are coming up to a 1000 hrs on this build,and about another 1000 to go,(wonder if I'll make it that far).

thank you steve, now making a start on the standing rigging, firstly the shroud backstays on the main mast,having first rigged the top yard.topsail booms, stirrups, and some blocks.

That looks like some very close work on the canon Karl. Would need my magnifier visor as my eyes seem to be getting worse these days.

Will look spectacular when complete with that black and white colour scheme.

although this ship is a bigger scale 1/76 than the deag vic. the cannons and trucks and blocks are smaller,yes they will be rigged, am working on them as we speak. Crying

Eagerly following your build as I've always loved the USS Constitution since I built my first Revell kit when I was 12. I really hope they offer the timber kit here in South Africa.

also it is mostly a set of plans and a box full of wood,and you just get on with it. good luck and love to see another.
