Well here goes nothing. My first attempt at wooden ship construction. And what a ship to start with. Im mad. Ive already built the anchor (wood left unpainted) I like the look of the wood in contrast with the black puddening (not sure if thats right) and the black iron. Also built is the cannon. Half way through the carronade. Im going to the tackle shop for my size 14 hooks. (not spade end) lol. Also sorry for lack of build photos for the launch but I have one or two now. The first 2 strakes are on each side. Slight issue with shaving/shaping but all good now. Im following the excellent 'Launch construction' created by Mike Turpin. I needed that for noobish reasons. Again thanks for sharing Mike. Seriously i couldnt do it without this. Eagle eyed among you will notice not stamped the cannon as yet. This will be on weekend after my wifes 30 birthday bash....hmmmm second thoughts nah. Bad idea. i dont know what weapons will be used in ww3 but ww4 will be sticks and stones.

All i do is open in paint and choose `Resize` make sure `percentage` is selected and type in `50`, i do this twice and it gives a suitable size. There is other software and ways of resizing. I find the ideal size is around 200KB. Done one for you to show how it looks. andylangtree attached the following image(s):

Fine work there. Going slightly off-topic, didn't someone post a guide to posting pics a while back? @Piot: Try opening a free photo hosting account with Imageshack. I've had my account for years and its dead easy to use (it'll even re-size your pics as you upload them) http://www.imageshack.us/ Schnellboots on back burner

I think you have every right to be chuffed to bits. It is looking very good if that's your first attempt. Well done!

I'll echo Mike, I'd be chuffed too! Nice and smooth around the bow, doesn't look like you've used any filler either. I am in awe sir!
