I must say I am blessed with a marvellous family, they decided in their infinite wisdom to each purchase a part of the Mantua's RMS Titanic for my xmas.... This build comes in 4 parts for the static display version, 5 parts if you are going down the R/C route. Brother in law got me Part 1, my son Part 3 and my wife Part 4. Part 2 will not be required and will get Part 5 sometime later... It has been given to me early on condition it is started now and not put into storage like other kits I am collecting.... mainly because my wife and BOL are ardent Titanic fans and want to see this one come together... Part 1, the hull section arrived today so thought I would post and let you see the contents of the box.... I would dearly love to light this one but honestly haven't got a clue on how to get started, best way to go about it and materials to use.. some reflection needs to be done on this subject.. If anyone out there would like to help and guide me through the project of lighting this behemoth then I'd be ever so grateful.... First impressions are of a great looking 1/200 scale kit, well packaged and the materials appear to be of a very high quality. all laser cut. Woods provided are Rose wood, Maple, Mahogani, Lime and Balsa blocks Plans look excellent although a quick review of the build instructions shows they are pretty basic to say the least so will see how we get on with them... Not too sure I like the stickers or decals, will definitely have a think on whether to use them or not.... Here's pictures of the contents.... Happy building all. Hi Alan She looks a nice comprehensive kit and as always the instructions seam to lose a lot of detail in the translation process as for the stickers/decals you could mask and spray these areas. I will be looking forward to your build diary regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

The instruction are quite laughable really, sitting studying them and slowly making sense of them..... .. Will start a diary and will see how that turns out.... Thanks again Regards Alan

Will also be carrying out some research for accuracy and of course see if I can actually light up this baby without it catching fire.... ... Regards Alan

Tom, you are a star.... . I've spent some part of this evening trawling the net and youtube on basic lighting effects for models and still didn't find what I was looking for..... Just had a quick look at your PDF links and think it will be a great start..... .. Maybe an idea to post this link in the Model Making Know How section for all to see as am sure others are a little daunted in undertaking such a project.... Thanks again Tom... Regards Alan
