If someone with a camera could produce a template, I don't own one. It's a little bit of scratch build although I sympathise with your plight.

Hi Timebob

You can use any spare offcut of wood you like for the tiller. I had already used all my wood strip because I had snapped one of the supports in the stern of the launch.

This got me thinking so I got an old piece of dark planking and took off a narrow strip to make a square section. I then drilled two 0.6mm holes in the tiller face and used the drill to open them out into a vertical slot, angling slightly downwards. I dropped the new tiller piece into hot water and then put a bit of a curve on it before filing down the end to fit into rudder slot. I'm also using a piece of the brass strip to reinforce the joint. The tiller just needs some varnish to finish it off.

I now reckon I have a slightly refined rudder/tiller which is consistent with my main launch colour scheme of yellow ochre for most of the interior and varnished thwarts.
