Hi Alan,

Makes me think Alan, not so worried about the rivet marking, it's all about lining up the plates, sometimes it's best not to rivet but to fit and drill the plate holes, check and check again then roll the marker along the line of pin holes. I have set mine 2mm from the edge of the plate.

All the best

Trev.

Hi Derek,

This has been a good kit to build I have built kit's and skinned them with balsa 1/32 in the past, and your DC3 reminds me of it ever time I look at your build, but this Spitfire build is something else, but only a few have sampled so far, I do hope De-Ago keep going and not suspend it.

UPDATE:SPITFIRE.
300516.
STABILIZER TAIL PLATES.

Today I have fitted 4 tail plates, they fit on the upper and lower sides of the tailplane. First I test fitted all the plates to make sure of a good fit then the next part was to roll the rivet marker I set 2mm from the edge.

Next the smaller plates I think you will have to adjust these 4 plates there the ones that fit next to the tail fin and stabilizer top and bottom, on these I found that it was a lot quicker to adjust by filing the straight edge not the curve edge.

This shows the top stabilizers fitted.

This shows the under side fitted.

These pictures show the tailplane ready to be fitted to the fuselage.

Thank you for your time.

Regards

Trev.
