I've decided to leave the planking for now and return to putting the Middle Deck support planks up. I need to do this before I can continue with the upper planking. I've noticed that to fit these planks I will have to do some heavy sanding to get them to fit as they seem to sit higher than the Bottom Deck planks. Is this normal? I also find that I will have to chamfer the bottom of the planks to get the correct angle for fitting into the niches. Finally I notice that the niche on ribs 25 is not a deep as the others and may interfere with the fitting. Again,; is this normal or a manufacturing fault ?

Hi Sinbad with out some picks I am not 100% sure of your problem. Can I sugest you have a look at some of the many build diarys to see how the deck supports and build up /sanding of the ribs has been done by others. Thanks for the reply. I have checked out the Official Build Diary and there is a marked difference in the height of the Middle Deck support beam. I also notice that in the build they have not followed the slope of the ribs. I don't really think this is really important as they will not be seen when the planking is in place.
