Hi all,
Does anyone know of a supplier online to get the thick planking strips from? I've heard them referred to as sepeli wood and/or bass wood. Cant seem to find a supplier anywhere,

thanks

Hi Thomas, i can find suppliers of 'sapele' wood (assume that's the stuff) on the net, but they all seem to supply large quantity. My advice would be to try kit manufacturers, like JoTiKa Ltd. They might be able to help.

Here you are, cheap, but be warned they are in Italy, saying that though my order got dispatched the day the last lot of Victory mags came out & arrived a day before them!!
You can buy any quantity of strips & they come in 500mm lengths.

Cornwall Boats do a similar range of timber for modelling, just be aware that there is a £2.50 surcharge on orders including wood, so get all you need in one go if possible. Cornwall Boats Timber

This is the link to the constructo web-site Constructo Timber Guide provides a useful chart showing colours of different woods including Sapelly, but doesn't give info about where to buy in UK.

You might try phoning Cornwall Boats, I believe others have had really helpful replies to their enquiries. They are Constructo stockists.
